As a young girl my family and I went to church all the time and when I was six years old I experienced that God was drawing me to Himself. Then as I got older, going to church was something we did because “we just should” until waking up on Sunday mornings became harder and harder to the point where we stopped going altogether. I believed in God and tried to be a good person and thought that was enough. But it wasn’t enough because as I got older I felt myself questioning my faith and slipping further away from my belief in God. Trying to be a good person didn’t matter as much anymore.
When I started college, I knew I needed to get my life back on track with God, so I joined a Bible study. It was in this Bible study that I found what repentance really means and that I needed to fully surrender my life to Jesus. I needed to stop living by my own will and the things of the world. During the fall semester of my freshman year I fully gave my life to Jesus. Since that day I have been building a real relationship with God on a daily basis. A few months after getting saved I went on a spring break trip to the University of Florida with Cornerstone Christian Church to reach out to other college students. With the help of my partner Camille, for the first time I was able to pray with a girl as she gave her life to Jesus. Now I will be living with three other girls in the church this upcoming year and I cannot wait to see all that God has planned for my life!!
