My family taught me about Christ at a very young age. As I grew older I began getting into trouble, and became associated with people who were influencing my life for the worse. This continued into college. I soon realized that there was a huge emptiness inside of me that was not filled by partying with my new friends at USF. I started to see that my mother and father had something real inside of them that gave them joy daily because of their relationship with God.
One day as I was walking back from class, a campus minister from Cornerstone invited me to do a Bible study. In our Bible studies we began talking about basic biblical principles and for the first time I was willing to listen. I soon realized repentance was about Godly sorrow not worldly sorrow. I used to just pray for the assurance that I wouldn’t go to Hell but I realized that real repentance was turning in the other direction and having a true relationship with Jesus. I began to see the reality that Jesus died so I could spend eternity with Him. During the Spring Semester of 2009, I surrendered my life to Jesus. I am now a member of Cornerstone Christian Church, and I attend a weekly Bible study which has helped me grow in my relationship with Christ. I am excited for the future God has for me and I pray that I’ll be a witness of God’s grace and peace to others around me just as the ministers at Cornerstone have been for me. -Dan
