I grew up knowing about the Bible and who Jesus was. When I was 8 years old, I prayed to give my life to Jesus. However, I didn't really understand what I was doing at the time. Shortly after, my parents got divorced and throughout the years that followed I went to church less and less and never actually developed a relationship with the Lord. When I was in high school, most of my friends had really strong faith in Christ, and I looked up to them for that. I got more interested in going to church again and reading the Bible, but I still wasn't giving Him my whole life and letting Jesus take control. I just thought that believing in Jesus and doing good was enough.
The summer before college I really wanted to learn more about God and develop a stronger faith. When I came to USF I met a campus minister from Cornerstone and I filled out a survey. I was excited to go to church and get involved with a Bible study. While studying the Bible, I realized that I never truly understood repentance & that I needed to fully give my life to the Lord. I did that in September of 2009 and ever since then my life has been great! I got baptized and started to build a strong foundation in Christ.
God has blessed me so much and placed me in a great church, Cornerstone. My favorite part now is watching the Lord work in other people's lives like He did in mine. I never thought that He would use me to reach out to others, but when I went on a Spring Break outreach trip with Cornerstone, I got to share my faith & was so excited to pray with a girl named Gracie. I love that I can actually have a relationship with Jesus and that it keeps on growing! - Jen
