Christian (in the middle)
Christian (in the middle)

I grew up in a Christian household and I always knew of God and believed in Him. I went to church regularly with my family, and I would regularly help out within my church. However, I never made a decision to give my life to Jesus. I wasn’t living like a Christian because I was drinking, partying, and I wasn’t in a God honoring relationship. I was doing everything that I knew the Bible specifically said not to.

Fast forward to the second semester of my freshman year when I went through a break-up. God then revealed to me how attached I was to relationships that were based in sin and how much I idolized them. I got to see how much worth was in the world - it was worthless - it always left me feeling empty.

At this point, I reached out to a campus minister at Cornerstone who had stopped me previously on campus to talk about doing a weekly Bible study. Throughout the Bible studies I was able to learn about God and who He is. I learned that I still had a lot of love for things that weren’t pleasing to God in my heart. I saw my need to turn away from sin. Through repentance, I made the decision to follow Jesus with all my heart and I’ve been following Him ever since. As a result, my anxiety decreased, I am less fearful, and I have the ability to overcome sin through Him. Most importantly God gave me a new and clean conscience. I now live according to what His Word says is right and pleasing.
